Best web dev starting point
Compared this to freeCodeCamp and some Udemy courses. This covers similar material but in a way that's better organized and easier to follow at your own pace.

Portfolio built in a week
Followed the tutorial project and had a working personal site live on GitHub Pages within a week. Friends thought I hired someone.

Helpful but a little surface-level
Good for complete beginners. If you've already done some HTML/CSS though, the first half will feel slow. The JavaScript chapters in the second half are where it gets really useful. Decent value for the price.

Wish I found this sooner
Modern approach. No jQuery nonsense -- just modern HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JS. Exactly how web dev should be taught.

Great overview
Good broad coverage. Doesn't go super deep but gives you a solid foundation across all the key technologies.

Everything I needed to start
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design -- it's all here in one place. Built my first portfolio site after finishing chapter 6. The CSS Grid and Flexbox sections are particularly well explained.
